Week 19 – And They Lived Happily Ever After

Jack and the Beanstalk. We read to the point of story where Jack climbs the beanstalk, finds gold, takes some and then the giant comes in. Abigail now finishes the story.

The giant came to Jack and took his gold out of Jack’s pockets. Then Jack ran away without the giant looking. And he ran away as fast as he can. Jack ran out of the castle and went down the beanstalk and ran away as he can run. He went home.
The giant was angry. He didn’t know that Jack went home. He stomped away and told his guards, “He escaped!”

Week 24 – Imagination

Gabriel McKnight lives in the Middle Ages. Every time when they were trying to get a castle they fire the catapult because they are trying to get the castle for themselves. The catapult is for firing stuff over the castle walls. Things like stones.

“When I first invented the catapult I used it for making holes in the castle walls so my army could get through. We killed some of their army and made the rest prisoners. Then we repaired the walls and started living in the castle. When another army came, we fired our own catapult over the walls toward the other army to kill them. It was good until the other armies invented the canon so they could shoot down the walls and get in. They could also dig trenches under the walls so the walls would fall down. They also made siege towers so they could get in the castle. Very soon, the other armies using their weapons got into the castle. I, Gabriel McKnight, got away with nine soldiers.”

The End.

Week 23 – Narration

David and Goliath

Once when the Philistines wanted to take over Israel, before they started attacking, the Israelites and Philistines were camped on two mountains with a valley in between. Then the Philistines sent down one of their men who was a giant. His name was Goliath. Then Goliath said “whoever kills me  we will be your slaves, but if I kill one of you, you will be our slaves.” No one wanted to fight against Goliath because he was so big. But David the shepherd wanted to fight against Goliath.

Then when the king tried to put armour on David the armour was too big. When David went into battle the giant laughed at him. Then when David took out his sling he shot with his sling and hit Goliath in the forehead. The rock went into him and hit is brain. Goliath died. When Goliath was dead all the other Philistines ran away.

Week 11 – Description (Vikings)

A viking house would just have one room. Vikings fought a lot and they were good fighters. They often fought to get money, lots of money. The vikings lived a long time ago. They would heat up their house with a little fire that made steam come out a hole in the roof. To get from far away countries to get money, they would sail on ships and sometimes get attacked on their ships.

I would like to live in Viking times because I want to be a fighter and Vikings were fighters and they had lots of money.

Week 36 – I’m An Animal

I am an elephant. I like to have a big trunk to drink water and wrap up hay so I can eat it. I walk slowly and have big huge ears. I go “ooouuuunng” and when I’m thirsty I suck water up my trunk. I have a big family of other elephants and we hold on to each others tails. Our tails are short. I am grey but can change colors by putting stuff from the ground onto me. And I am very heavy and walk slow. I don’t eat meat, and when it’s hot outside I drink cold water and go in the shade.

Week 35 – How Does This Work?

Playing Osmo Newton is easy.

You start by taking it out of the box. You put the iPad in and you put the red thing on the top of the iPad. There is a picture on the side of the box that shows you how to do it. Then you put paper in front of the Osmo and then you turn on the iPad. You press the button on the bottom of the iPad to turn it on. Then you go to Osmo Newton. You switch it with your finger and press the button thing that says Osmo Newton at the top.

Then when the balls fall from the top of the iPad and then you try to draw and get it into the target. You draw on the paper to get the balls into the target. Then if you are really good at it you get to move on to another one and it gets harder and harder and harder.

That’s how you play it.

Week 32 – Story Elaboration

Original Story: Ed taps a drum. Pam sings. They create music.

Gabe’s Story.

Once upon a time they were playing music at a building where people play music. Ed was banging the drum really hard and he was even jumping on it to make an even louder noise. And soon, Ed fell into the drum and the drumming stopped. And then Pam looked and she didn’t see him and when Ed fell in through the drum, he fell through the floor. Pam stopped singing and she didn’t know which hole he went down. She went down the middle one and the hole came out to a cliff and there was a huge room. And the cliff was in the huge room. They both tried to climb up. There were lots of things to grab onto because there were lots of twigs sticking out of the dirt. And soon they got up and they also got a new drum and the drum that they got was stronger then the other one that broke.

They they played more music. Ed banged the drum and Pam sung again. And they made music again.

The End.

Week 31 – My Favorite Game

My favorite game is Battleship and this is how you play it. You take the computers out of the box and the extra pegs you leave in the box. You take out the grey computer and open it and then you put the ships where the holes are so you can attach them into the board. You put them where you want them to be. The other person does the same as you. He puts them where he wants it. And you make sure that they can’t see them, because that would be cheating.

So there is numbers at the top and letters at the side and if you say “A10” you find the A and go to the 10 and if your ship is not there, you put a white peg, but if you hit a boat there you put a red peg. You put his guesses on the bottom and your guesses on the top. You’re trying to get the other guys boats. You win by getting all the red pegs on all of his boats before your boats have red pegs on them. And that’s how you play.

It’s my favorite game because I like the fighting stuff and it’s a fighting game.

Week 3 – Dictate Dialog (I Wish I Had a Nickel)

“I wish I had a nickel,” said Nathan.
“You can’t,” said Daddy. “Because it’s a penny that is a nickel and Emmy can eat the penny.”
“Oh, I really want it, because I haven’t had one before. I would want to buy a toy oven with the nickel.”
“You still can’t have it. You know why? Because you might forget to put it in your piggy bank.”
“Well, I don’t even have a piggy bank!”
“If you really want a piggy bank, you’ll have to have a nickel to buy a piggy bank.”
“I’ll just have to get a job and start earning money.”
“You still can’t have it,” said Daddy.

The End.

Week 1 – Pat the Rat

Pat the Rat is a fat rat and he wears a hat on his head. He wears a big fat shirt because Pat the Rat is fat. His tummy is as big as a watermelon. Pat the Rat just lays on his mat! He also has a big grin and he has a stick in his hand to help him walk. Nat sat on Pat. Nat is a fat, fat cat. Then he sat on his hat and flattened the hat. And he sat on his big fat tummy. Pat the Rat said, “Hey, get off me!” And Pat was flat and his hat was flat too. Then Nat got off Pat. Pat was not flat, and his hat wasn’t flat either!

That’s the end of the story.
