Week 35 – Invent
If there’s water without a bridge and you have to swim across, instead we could build a rope bridge out of the string. We would braid the string together into two strong, thick ropes. Then, I would build four posts and put two of them on either side of the water. For now, you have to keep swimming across until your bridge is finished. Then you would fasten one side of the rope to one pole one side of the water, and fasten the other end of the rope to the post on the other side of the water. Do the same with the second rope. Then, lay the boards so that each board lays on both ropes. Then nail the boards to the rope so that you can walk on the boards which are attached to the ropes. Now make two more ropes and tie them above the other ropes, so that you have handles and don’t fall off the bridge. Now you don’t have to swim across the river because we have a bridge!

Week 25 – Describe (Favorite Food)
Sinigang by Emily
My favorite food is Sinigang. It has radishes, green beans, fish sauce, meat, rice, and tamarind. It tastes delicious. It doesn’t taste like anything else you’ve tasted. It simply looks like a pot full of radishes, green beans and meat and an orange sauce. Once Daddy described it as smelling bad but tasting good. I don’t think it smells bad. I eat it warm, right from the pot. I always have seconds or thirds. It’s my favorite because it tastes the best! I love it!

She flew over downtown and all the way to Edmonton and landed at her Grandma and Grandpa’s house. When they came to Grandma and Grandpa’s house they asked where the rest of the family was. Emily told them that they were at home but that she brought Joshua, holding him while she was flying over the city.
Emily had as much sleep overs as she wanted at Grandma and Grandpa’s house. She held Joshua as much as she wanted. She made sure that everything was OK. She fed Joshy and after awhile she came back home.
When she got home her Mommy and Daddy asked where had she gone. Emily said that she went to visit Grandma and Grandpa with Joshy on her pet goose Abigail.

My perfect pet would be a blue and purple striped cat. This cat would spend most of her time eating mice. But she’s afraid of dogs so I would shut the door if any dogs came and hold her until the dogs ran away. My favourite thing to do with the cat is play Hide and Seek, but it’s easy to find her because she always hides in the shed. I wish I really had this cat!

Week 12 – Imagination
Emily is the wife of Noah and it’s the night before the great flood.
I was helping to build the ark with Noah. It was nearly done and it was almost midnight. The ark is so big that you could fit every kind of animal. In a few minutes before midnight the ark was done. It was hard to see because it was so dark but animals were coming on the ark. I saw grizzly bears, giraffes, elephants, cheetahs, and dinosaurs. I knew they were there because they were making lots of noise and we brought in two of every animal.
I went to my room on the bottom floor. I had no blankets because we didn’t have time to get our blankets in our house. I curled up and went to sleep. When I woke up I heard the waters moving and I felt the boat moving. It was a good thing we had food! It rained for 40 days and 40 nights.
