Twenty and Ten is a book about 20 fifth-grade French children, 10 Jewish children, and Sister Gabriel. It happened during World War 2 in France. German soldiers captured Sister Gabriel and put her in prison because they thought she was keeping Jewish children in her home. The French children had to take care of the Jewish children. They also had to make sure the German soldiers didn’t see them.
The Germans never found the Jewish children and Sister Gabriel was released. The French children kept them safe.
