Week 11 – Living in Abraham’s Day

If I lived in Abraham’s day I would see camels, donkeys, goats, and sheep. It would smell stinky like the animals need a bath. I would live in a tent. Inside the tent you would see baby sheep and me playing with baby kittens. If you needed to make you, you need to make a fire outside your tent. There is no grocery stores so the boys would go hunt and get food for the girls to cook. When you go to sleep you hear camel grunts, and the sheep and goats saying “baaaaa” and donkeys saying “neigh.”

The End.

Week 11 – The Cat Book

Once there was a cat named Emily. She wanted to play with her boat at the beach. She brought her bucket to the beach and made a sand castle with a moat around it. She was excited.

She noticed that there were rocks and grass in the moat, but the water was missing from the moat. She needs water to play with her boat in the moat.

She grabbed her bucket.

She ran to the water and filled her bucket up with water.

She ran back with her bucket as fast as she could.

Uh-oh! She tripped on an umbrella that was left there by another family of cats and the bucket went up in the air…

…and then down on her head. The water spilled out. She doesn’t have any water left for her boat so she was sad.

She went back to the water and filled her bucket up again and then she slowly went back and this time she stepped over the umbrella. She went back to her boat and put it in the bucket and then she was happy to play with her boat.

Week 9 – Picture This

Once there was a very greedy robber. This robber had a sword. When it was midnight, at 12 o’clock, he climbed up into a castle window. When he came out he had stolen the king’s cape and crown and he also had a stick with a bag of gold hanging from his shoulder. He couldn’t hold the crown so he had to put it on his head! It was also really hard to climb because one of his hands was holding the stick with the bag of gold.

As he was going down the crown fell off his head and it smashed on the ground. The guards heard this so they rushed out. The archers on top of the castle wall started firing their arrows down at him. Then he flung himself into the castle window and he killed some of the people inside. Guards came to get him too but he killed all the guards with his sword. Then he killed the king and queen. While the archers were still looking for him he snuck up behind them and sliced all of their arrows with his sword. Their quivers shook as he did this. The archers turned around and when they grabbed for their arrows only the back of the arrows were in their quiver. The robber had the pointy tips!

In the morning enemies of the castle came and catapults started firing boulders over the walls and all the soldiers in the castle had no weapons. The robber had taken all the weapons and broken them or kept them himself. The enemies got the castle. The robber was on the enemy’s team.

The End.

Abigail

Week 9 – Imagination

Abigail the veterinarian.

One day a lamb was sick. I put the lamb in an ambulance then I drove the lamb to the animal hospital. Then I carried the lamb out of the back and brought her into the animal hospital. I brought the lamb to a little house, like a little dog house. I gave the lamb some strawberry medicine and I gave the lamb a little bit. Then I called another animal doctor to get out the bad stuff in the lamb. The animal doctor found a bullet in the lamb and she called me and I came. The other doctor said, “I found a bullet in the lambs body.”

“A what?” I said.

“Maybe the lamb got shot in the stomach by a soldier.”

The lamb got better and I brought her back to the other lambs.

The End.

Week 8 – Story-Starters

One day, Abigail was playing with a deer named Faline in the woods. Abigail said, “I  won’t hurt you, come over here!” And the deer came over. Abigail sat on the grass and petted Faline. Then Abigail said, “Deer, stay here, I’m going to get Mommy and Daddy.” Then Abigail ran home and told Mommy and Daddy, “I found a deer!” But when she came back with Mommy and Dadddy, the deer was gone. Abigail looked all over the forest and she finally found Faline and brought her to Mommy and Daddy. Abigail said, “Can Faline be my pet?” “Ok,” said mommy and daddy. Abigail put her arm around Faline and they brought her home. The end.

Week 7 – Fable Narration

St. George and the Dragon

Once, a princess saw a dragon. St. George thought she was in danger, so he went on his horse with his knight’s armor and sword and he wanted to rescue the king’s princess. He got where the princess was and he fighted the dragon. He cut the dragon’s neck off and the princess was safe because St. George killed the dragon. He brought the princess back to the king and said, “We saved the princess.” The end.

Week 7 – What’s So Funny?

“What’s so funny?” asked Gabe.
“I’m thinking of silly stuff from Winnie the Pooh,” said Abigail.
“What part of the Winnie the Pooh movie, Abigail?”
“When piglet wrote ‘Help P..P..P..Piglet me'”
“I don’t really think that part’s funny.”
“It is to me,” said Abigail.
“The part I think is funny is when Pooh says, ‘I must save my supper.’ Piglet wants to save his life and Pooh wants to save his honey.”
Abigail said, “I think the silly part about that message is because Piglet ended that message with ‘me.'”
“Piglet always ends her messages with ‘me,'” said Gabe.
Abigail said, “But I still think that’s funny.”
Gabe said, “Let’s just go and watch it together.”
“OK,” said Abigail.

The End.
