Week 5 – Narration

Jesse, Violet, Benny, and Henry were walking in the forest. It was raining and they were trying to get away from Mr. and Mrs. Baker. Jesse was standing at the top of the hill near the edge of a slope. The others were standing back a little bit.

Jesse said, “I think I see something.”

Then Benny said, “I don’t see anything.”

Jesse said, “I’m sure I saw something.”

And she began walking down the hill. There was mud because it was raining. Jesse slipped and slid down the hill. The others held on to her and they slipped too and started sliding. When they slid to the bottom they got up and Jesse started walking and there was a lightning flash. Then she said, “I knew I saw something, it’s a boxcar!” Then she ran towards it.

When the four children got there, they opened the door and got in. They were out of the rain and away from Mr. and Mrs. Baker.

The End.

Week 5 – How Do You Do That?

Making a peanut butter and jam sandwich.

You get two pieces of bread from the bag that you bought. I like white bread. Put jam on one piece of bread. The best jam is strawberry jam. You need to use a knife because it is messy but be careful you don’t cut yourself. Put peanut butter on the other piece of bread. And then put them together. The peanut butter and jam should be in the inside.

Then you cut it in half and eat it.

The End.

Week 4 – I Remember

I remember when I went to Drumheller and the Atlas Coal Mine. The coal mine was fun because I got to see a lot friends there. We learned about how they got coal out of the mountain. We got to see the mine but the mine was very dark. We didn’t get to ride down the conveyor belt because it wasn’t working. We also got to stay at a hotel and swim!

It was a good trip and we had lots of fun. You should go there too!

The End.

Week 4 – The Visitor

Auntie Amy came during the Stampede. We love her because she has lots of kids and we like Emma. She came with Uncle Kendall and Emma and Alex and Ethan. They all slept over. We played with them. We played soccer baseball, we went to the zoo, we went to Auntie Jen’s house, we had slurpees and we  went to the Stampede. That was my favourite. I wish she would come to our hous again. The End.

Week 4 – Recollection

After school ended we went on a vacation to Invermere. It is in Bristish Columbia. It was a surprise after getting mom a coffee. I like Invermere because there’s pools and parks. We stayed at a condo. I shared a room with Abigail and Sophia (she had to sleep on the floor because there was only two beds). We swam almost everyday until it was time to go back home. We swam at the condo pool and Mommy asked if we wanted to go to Radium Hotsprings and we all said Yes so we went. The Hotsprings were really hot. We had running races in the pool. I won a race, but Abigail won the first one. We wanted to stay, but we had to go back home.

Week 3 – Newspaper Reporter

Boy Rescued By Shark

“Our boy got rescued by a shark,” said Mr. and Mrs. Bates.

Riley, the boy’s sister said, “I saw my brother in deep water where he couldn’t swim.”

“I thought he was going to drown,” said Allison, the boy’s other sister.

“We saw a shark and we thought he was going to eat our son,” said the boy’s father.

“The shark went under and then slowly went up and our boy rode him to shore,” said the boy’s mother.

Sharks are supposed to eat people, not rescue them. This is certainly an incredible story.

Abigail Stephens reporting.

Week 3 – Fairy Tale Dialog

“What do you like doing best?” said Christopher Robin.

“Well,” said Pooh. “What I like doing best is when I come over to you and you say, ‘How ’bout a smackerel of honey?’”

“What I like doing best,” said Christopher Robin, “is just doing nothing.”

“How do you do nothing?” replied Pooh.

“Well, grownups ask you what are you going to do and you say, ‘Nothing.’”

“I like that! Let’s do it all the time,” said Pooh.

Week 3 – Bolt Buddies

“It’s too noisy in the house,” said Sam. “Let’s go outside.”

Then he went outside and started playing with his robot, Mike. Then they wanted to start playing, so they did. Then they looked in the window and then sat down to do their math.  Mike did Sam’s work for him because he wanted to be kind to Sam. Mike made a card for Sam because he still wanted to be kind. Sam like the card so he hugged Mike his robot. The end.
