Week 30 – Blown Away

week30The Windmill was sitting on the grass. The wind was so strong at the sea that it blew the water off the sea and it hit the Windmill and cut that rope that was pulling it down. The bottom of the Windmill that attached it to the ground broke and it flew up. The fruit flew out of the Windmill. A plane came to get the food and put it back in the Windmill so if they get hungry they can eat. Before the plane got the food, the plane landed and attached the rope again. And then he put the food inside the Windmill.  The End.

Week 29 – The Big Storm

I came out of my bed and Daddy and Mommy let me come to the window to see what was going on. I saw the tree shaking and bending. I heard the thunder and I started crying because it was so loud. I saw lightning, it looked like squiggles. The lightning was bright and the thunder was dark. There was clouds and the clouds were grey. It was raining a lot. When it was the storm, I wish I could go out and play and splash in the puddles. Mommy and Daddy wouldn’t let me because I would get hurt by the lightning. After the storm was over I didn’t go outside because I forgot all about it. The tree was like this (leaning over in chair), it bended. We cut it down, but I think another one is gonna grow back up.  The End.

Week 13 – Story Elaboration – The House That Pat Built

“Pat built a house. The house collapsed.” What do you think of that story?

He built a house of straw and sticks.

Do you think that story is too short?

Yes.

Can you tell me what else happened?

He built another house out of bricks so it wouldn’t fall down.

Let’s tell the story again, and fill in some more details.

Pat built a house. He built it out of straw. On Tuesday. He built it so he could live in it. His house fell. It collapsed to the ground because it was windy and the wind was so strong that it blew the house right down. On Saturday, Pat built a new house out of brick so it wouldn’t fall down. He was happy when he built his new house because it stayed together and didn’t fall apart.

Week 08 – The Toledo Zoo

We saw a cat, a big cat, on the rock and we saw a hippo swimming. We saw meerkats, but we didn’t see the lions going they were sleeping, it was a hot day.  We also saw penguins not going in the water and tigers.  We saw meerkats in a few days at the Toledo zoo.  We saw goats and we petted them with the brushes because that was easier than petting them with our hands. That made me feel good.  I like the zoo because it’s fun watching the animals that God made.  We also saw g-g-giraffes before the goats.  The end.

Week 07 – Fable Narration

Cat was walking outside and it was rainy. Then the doors swings open and he comes in by going frontwards and trying backwards. Then the fish said, No No No! You should not be in when your mother is out. Cat in the hat made a mess on the inside and he drew on the fishes bowl. Thing 1 and thing 2 came in in a big box. Cat in the hat opened the hook and the box and it was really loud. And thing 1 and thing 2 came running out. And they shook hands. Then they went out. After he was done, he went back out and he left the mess. He came back and cleaned up the mess.

The end.

Week 05 – How to Make a Chocolate Sandwich

You will need chocolate and jam, I mean, peanut butter, and you will need some bread, and, I mean, that’s it, mom.

There’s more. You need a knife and a plate.

Put the bread on the plate, and then open the cupboard and touch the peanut butter and get it out and put the peanut butter on the bread with a knife and put chocolate on it and then put bread on top and that’s a peanut butter and chocolate sandwich.

The end.

Week 04 – Story Elaboration

Luke swam before the race. Luke raced against “plenty” of children.  Luke won a lollipop. Luke felt nice, he liked the lollipop. Luke went across on the pool after he was done. Luke swam quickly. It was a big pool. There was a ladder to climb in. And after he was all done making it across, he jumped on the trampoline with his shoes off. And then he told his mom that he won the race, and went across the pool, and jumped on the trampoline, and got a lollipop. His mom said that we was not allowed to have a lollipop.  The End.

(The original story: Luke swam. Luke won.)

Week 04 – The Visitor

When it was sunny and warm in the summer Grandma and Grandpa came to visit. They slept in the guest room. We went to Jackson Park and to the restaurant (the closest one). They had chocolate ice cream, teriyaki, vanilla ice cream, and spicy tuna. We went to the airport to pick them up and they flew. The best thing I liked during the visit was stirring the water at Jackson Park with Gabe and Grandma and Grandpa.

(Nathan asked, “Can I type, I know how.” About 20 times during this.)
