Week 13: Make Up a Song

Emily at the park.
Went down the slide.
She fell and bonked her head
And then she really cried.

Sophia at the park
Went down the slide.
And she fell and bonked her head
And the she really cried.

Abigail at the park
Went down the slide
She went all the way down
But fell into a mud puddle.

Week 13: Story Elaboration

Original Story: Pat built a house. The house collapsed.

Abigail Version:
Pat built a Lego house. Pat liked his house. Sam thought Pat didn’t make a good house because it was just made out of Lego. Sam broke Pat’s Lego house by hitting it with his hand. The Lego house collapsed. Then Pat was sad and ran away. Sam said, “Pat, come back, I want to say sorry.” Pat came back and Sam gave Pat a hug and they both built a house together. Pat and Sam loved each other and they lived happily ever after.

The End.

Note: Pat and Sam are brothers.

Week 11 – The Cat Book

Mit at the Beach

K - LA - Week 11 - 01
Once upon a time, there was a cat named Mit. He was at the beach. He found a little toy boat and he saw a sandcastle. He wanted to play with the boat in the moat.

K - LA - Week 11 - 02
He pointed at the moat. He needed water for the moat for his boat.

K - LA - Week 11 - 03
He took his pail…

…and he filled it with water from the beach.

K - LA - Week 11 - 05
He wanted to play at the castle so he ran as fast as he could to the castle. He did not see the umbrella on the ground.

K - LA - Week 11 - 06
He tripped over the umbrella and lost his bucket!

K - LA - Week 11 - 07
The pail fell on his head and he was sad because he lost his water and he needed the water for his moat.

K - LA - Week 11 - 08
He filled his pail with water and put his boat in the pail and had fun.

Week 21 – Dialog

“Yesterday was the strangest day!” said Nathan.
“Why was it so strange?” asked Gabe.
“Because I heard a rat say that he could kill a cat!”
“I don’t think a rat can kill a cat.”
“Maybe he can?”
“And I don’t think a rat can talk.”
“Well that’s why it was a strange day!”

Week 10 – Grown-Up Me

When I grow up, I’m going to be a Mommy. I haven’t been a Mommy before, so when I growed up I was being a Mommy. I will live at the house that I will live at. My own house with my children and my husband. I will do school with my seven kids. They were babies, but they know how to walk now. I will bake food like sushi. And I will eat and call them to sit down. I will wash the dishes. I drive the car with my seven children, and my husband. We will go to a hotel to swim in the pool because we are going on a vacation. The end.

Week 19 – Story Starters

1B - LA - Week 19Once upon a time, a girl named Jessie lived in a big city near the ocean. Everyone in the city except her was busy. And because she had nothing to do, she snuck out of her apartment and went out. She walked and walked until she got to the ocean. Jessie began playing in the sand and watching geese in the water. When she wanted to lay down, she lay down and looked up and saw a huge bird in the sky. The bird came swooping down and picked Jessie up. She wasn’t bored anymore, now she was having fun. The bird kept flying in circles over the city. As she flew on the bird she could see almost the whole city. Then, the bird flew farther and farther away from the city until Jessie couldn’t see the city. Then, it started flying in circles again and the little girl was never seen again. The end.

Week 8 – Finish the Story

Original story: Sue and Bob wanted to help Mom make lunch. Sue pulled out the bread. Sue spread peanut butter and jelly on the bread. She put the sandwiches on a plate. She put place mats on the table. Bob got some peaches and washed them. He put the peaches into a bowl. Bob also poured milk into glasses.

The Abigail ending:
Bob and Sue ate with their Mother. Mother said thank you. When they were done they took a walk. Then they went to the pool.
